I'd heard great things about 'The Prophet', got a copy, but didn't 'get it'....A while ago I thought I should give it another go and this time I came away with greater understanding.

On the strength of that I decided to get 'A Treasurty Of Kahlil Gibran'. (Edited by Martin L.. Wolf)
It is one of the most beautiful books I've ever read.
Some of the writings are of such exquisite beauty, on reading them, there was a tear in my eye.

Sublime.

yeah Mountianeer
Only read "Prophet" about 20 years ago and no other books by him( don't read anything at all now).
One book that shaped my thinking profoundly. You have used the right word, sublime it is!

You must read the 'Treasury' book then. Goes well beyond 'The Prophet'. And yes 'sublime' is the only word for it. A beautiful, outstanding work - a literary masterpiece,.
