I caught it for the first time last night. There's such a wide range in what's considered normal, and it's great to see these Drs helping us to know what's ok and what to look out for.

When I found my lump it was the size of an oat, when I went to the doc it was the size of a pea (approx six weeks as I was checking it wasn't hormonal).

That was 6 years ago.

I thought the prog was brilliant. I even let my 13 year old daughter stay up till 12 tonight (was showed in Scotland tonight) to watch it as I felt it was very important.

Hiya everyone

Have you been to the website and watched the self checking examinations, they are really good.

Did anyone see last nights about Vaginas? How brave was that lady showing a class full of women how to exam herself!

Saw a bit of last night and I must agree with you - that lady was very brave to do this not only in front of the class, but with a camera zooming in!

Must say, I had never heard of that self examination before. Actually had a papsmear 3 weeks ago and the Dr went over the breats self exam but none other was mentioned - this is probably why they wanted to bring awareness about this. Think they mentioned that 1 woman dies every day (in the UK) due to cancer of the vulva.

Will have to keep and eye out for the next programme and probably go see the website.

Very interesting - if a little gruesome in parts - but what I don't get is this: how come people who say they have been worrying about a problem for years and wouldn't mention it to anyone (not even a doctor) because they are so embarrassed are suddenly happy to share their problem on national TV??

I saw the second half....and when the lady was having the surplus vaginal tissue removed ....I sure felt the need crossed my legs .

As you say Supersub , I too was surprised by the fact that she was afraid to undress, and yet had a TV camera zooming in. . However.....Kudos to them.......fortune favours the brave so the saying goes....perhaps the programme paid for private surgery where they may not have been able to afford it themselves. Truly women of courage I think.......
