I have bought a few books from the Book Depository over the past few months and they provide a free bookmark with each one. I think they must have ran a competition and chose 20 winning entries, and they have managed to send me different ones each time.
I have also disbanded a set of oracle type cards I bought from and MBS event once.. they were home made and laminated. Its nice to come across an unexpected message or picture when i re-read a book.
So how many people actually use a book mark specially for purpose..or is it whatever scrap of paper, empty envelope, supermarket receipt that comes to hand :), or you a fold in the cover sleeve, or turn down the corner kind of reader.

All of those, Fleur!
I do like bookmarks and try to use them, especially with library books and new books. Funnily enough I just yesterday bought a bookmark with magnets from the Wild Planet shop in Brighton. However, I often mislay my bookmarks and end up using a supermarket bill or old envelope too. And I'm afraid I am guilty of turning down the corners of pages sometimes. I have to say though, that I love to have a book between my hands and can't see me ever buying one of these ebook readers. Mind you, that's what I said about iPhones!

Yes I use bookmarks, have a lovely laminated one by Sharon Jervis, it has different cats on it, had one with pigs on and think I left it in a library book years ago a leather one with Mum on it, and I use those mini post it notes for reference books. I never turn the corners down, and I never bend the spine lol
