RE: whats the meaning of birthdays

gillyann

Thanks for the words about my number.

Till today I believed that my 'operating' number is 4, because 4 has played major roll in my life. Major incidents has occured on dates related to number 4.

Today I read description of a number 11, and it made me believe that my characteristics resembles to the description for #11's.

I read them on:

Your comments are appriciated

RE: whats the meaning of birthdays

Hallo Naru,

Hans Decoz along with Matthew Goodman are the numerologists of my choice, and when I was doing workshops, I officially paid for and downloaded the Decoz programme, which I found to be the best for what I was doing.

Since I gave up workshops a year ago, I am not using this at the moment, and it has run out of time, so I refer to the books I have by Matthew Goodman, and the notes I kept from Decoz.

If anyone wants a fairly good baisc reading they can do themselves, the Decoz site is excellent and of course, the basic reading is free. You cannot copy or paste though, so will have to print out the full pages if you want to keep them.

RE: whats the meaning of birthdays

I might add a little twist… One reason why birthdays might have been considered special is of course that they exactly match the return of the Sun to the position it was when you were born… Hence the astrological term ‘Solar Return’. So I was born with the Sun at 0*51’ in Scorpio… and every year – on my birthday – the current Sun returns to pass over this position in my natal chart. It’s a general rule – some may find their ‘true’ birthday / solar return is on a date before or a date after their celebrated birthday – because of the time when they were born being close to midnight…

Numerological ‘5’ is ruled by Mercury – hence the ‘Mercurial’ traits that Gillyann expounded early in the post… But Gillyann I have a question:

As I learned it (a long time ago!!) – the numbers were linked to planets… Sun, Moon, Jupiter, Uranus, Mercury, Venus, Neptune, Saturn and Mars… in that order… But what of Pluto? We can’t have a number ‘10’ because of the ‘9’ system – so do you agree with the approach that Pluto is a higher octave of Mars and fits alongside Mars with number 9 – or do you ignore the Pluto matter altogether – as this system was used long before Pluto was known (though some would argue with that !; the Chaldeans were acknowledged with a full understanding of our solar system). In modern times, Pluto was ‘found’ in 1936…

Really interesting question Sol.

The way I learned it was as follows: (which is not exactly the same as yours)

For a start you can easily see how the nos relate to the planets, No 2 being a very good example, as the moon governs Cancer, and so many 2's are Cancerians or water signs. The Sun being a No 1 fits the more serious and buisnesslike of the signs, the 3 is jolly Jupiter life and soul of the party., the 4 is Saturn, the taskmaster, the 5 is Mercury, all over the place, quick and adventerous, 6 is Venus, loving and family orientated, 7 is Neptune who likes to be alone, 8 is Mars, the go getter and the philanthropist. 9 is the most intensely spiritual and I acknowledge that is the higher octave of Mars and fits alongside Pluto.

And also yes, the Chaldean numerology was deeper more complex and darker in essence, and seemed to include planets we have only recently discovered.

The Pythagoran system is quite different, set for the 'modern' age although many centuries old and did not therefore take Pluto into account.

But my way of thinking is that numerology like astrology cannot be defined by any rigid set of rules, but grows and evolves as we do.

Hence new thinking propounds all the time.
