already some really good advice here. just my tupence aswell. i know something is wrong with the direction i am taking my life, if i am struggling and fighting and i am gaining nothing not even learning anything, just battling for the sake of it, thats when i now its time to give it up. but if it is the right path even those really tremendous battles will be filled with learning or courage or something which makes the fight worth while, thats when i know i'm never going to quit till i get where i'm going.

The fact that you have come on to this website and am interested in talking to the people here seem to me to be a sign that this is your path.
Today I was reading Diana Cooper. I read a chapter on our paths and how we know that we are meant to be healers. I then was explaining it to my husband and said that the signs I have had seem to be confirming I am on the path to the ascention.
That was about 10 minutes ago. I don't usually come on line to HP this time of night but I was drawn to it for another reason and then I found your posting.
The fact that you know there is such a thing as a path and you are here means you are at the right place and now is the time to start opening your senses to the messages from the universe.
I would definately recommend Diana Cooper, I cannot get my nose out of her books. I am now a massage therapist and I am taking Reiki I & II on Saturday and Sunday - a year ago I had no idea this is was where my life was taking me but here I am.

i've always believed that when you're on the right path the doors will open along the way.. the coincidences become more frequent and conversations you have with people give you messages of encouragement.. it just depends on how aware you are i suppose.. the most important thing is to trust your own feelings.. if you're on the right path you instinctively know it because it feels right..
unfortunately life can take over sometimes and we are easily distracted by the things we have to deal with from day to day.. i sometimes find it very hard to stay in tune and focused with who i am and where i'm going..

I have always known that I am different ! Explain that if you can !!! I never had many friends but always wanted to make animals and people better. I married when I was 21 and had the required 2 children. Wonderful boys, I love them dearly and 15 years of my life were taken up raising them. And then I met Bob and my life changed forever. My marriage had been very unhappy for me, and as soon as I met Bob, I knew he was my soul mate. he understood ME, what made me tick, what was my purpose in life - my reason for living. He told me I was a healer - I had no idea what he meant, but he introduced me to crystals, spiritual healing, meditation, spirit guides etc etc, and then Reiki. That was it - I knew my pathway - to be a Healer.
My Guides have been a great help, but it was my soul mate who showed me the way together with the many other lovely people I have met on this pathway.
Next year, April 2006, I retire from full time work. Bob is building me a Healing Room on the front of the house, and I will then be able to achieve what I am meant to achieve. I am the happiest girl in the world, the the bestest husband and soul mate. (not forgetting the bestest guides and guardian angels !!!):D:D:D:D:D

I've never met angels, spirits or guides (ok I may have met my guide in a meditation posted by M but I am still trying to decide whether it was my (very active) imagination or actually a guide). I have always known since a child that there is something trying to guide me through life though (I simply called this entity God, but I might be wrong), and I know when I'm making the right decisions because the outcomes seem so much more easy to obtain... I noticed that when I wanted to get something that was hard to achieve, when I finally got it, it was either not as good as I thought or a hassle in one way or another, whereas when I just go with the flow and accept whatever outcome occurs it turns out to be positive in the end.
eg 1 I wouldn't have found HP (which I find a great source of inspiration thanks to all the great people on here) if I hadn't made some previous decisions in life
eg 2 I was desperate to get into accountancy after uni, but just could not get a training contract, despite making it even to 2nd interview stage on several attempts with different accountancy firms, spent a lot of time trying, but in the end just fell into computing... which I found out was for me much more enjoyable and a lot less hard work!! (I have since had to do accountancy-related work and found it really is not for me...). Thank God (literally) I didn't decide to pay for an accountancy course myself in order to get a position at a practice.
So I feel I am following the right path. Hence my name!
PS Gilliebean... good for you, i'm jealous!
PPS You might all want to read Anatomy Of The Spirit by Caroline Myss which talks about 'Devine Design': how we should follow the path laid out for us and that the Devine (be it God, Allah, the Greater Good, the Universal Mind, etc) is trying to provide us with everything we need if we trust in it.
