RE: Should mediums/readers charge a fee?

personally i'm not happy with anyone getting 'disproportionate financial gain' from anything! greed is a sad thing. i still think that we have this huge problem, as a society, with 'dirty money' tho, and i think that is a lot of the problem when it comes to this kind of discussion. almost as tho anyone who seeks a financial exchange for their time will somehow be corrupted and therefore untrustworthy. i think that most people are purer than that. call me naive!! but i have come across mediums and the like whom i would not trust and, i must admit, that feeling has been partly triggered by the fact that they're asking 30 quid before you even sit down! maybe a better way is to pay what you think the reading or whatever was worth to you.

Hello northernlights,

I think that for an ordinary reading, a minimum charge of say £10 should be levied, with a cap of about £30. If people begin giving what they think a reading is worth, they will hand over 50p's and £1's. It has to be worth the medium's time and effort.

I agree - not everyone who charges for a reading is corrupt. The corruption enters the equation when people start charging over-the-odds. I have seen readings marked up at £50 per time. It's not on. Larger fees do not necessarily mean that the reading will be any better or clearer than a medium charging £10 a time.

Love,
Patsy.

I feel it depends on the person, If you are comfortable with it then doing it withen reason should be no problem. I personally dont think I would be comfortable taking money for reading cards or what not. Now if after a reading someone was to hand me a small amount of funds I would say Thank you please come again 😀

But I dont see anything wrong with charging.

Yes, because even Mediums/readers have to pay the mortgage. However, I personally believe any reader charging £25 or more is a bit steep.

I agree with charging a fee. Everyone has to eat:D However, wherever there is greed put into something, it is never a spiritual experience - so - moderation in fees sounds cool;) I really think that if a medium charges moderately, he/she will find more clients coming anyway. So everyone is happy, the medium makes a good living and the people seeking guidance find this at a price they can afford.
