Is a "lightholder" the same thing as a "lightworker"? I had a session with an intuitive counselor and his guides told him that I am a lightholder, among other things. I've never heard anybody use that, only lightworker. My friend thinks it's something different.
Aren't we all lightworkers/lightholders/healers? We are all light beings.
RE: Anyone familiar with the term "lightholder"
Thinking about this one... a holder of light could be someone who 'holds' it for others, like a lantern or a bowl, shining brightly so that others can see.... A worker of light could be someone who works directly with light and gives out light rather than holding it, if you see what I mean?
I'm also thinking here of how sometimes I 'hold' the energy during a group healing session while others do the 'direct' energy work. This applies to working with my spirit healers as well as physical healers.
As you say, we are all light beings, but we all have different functions and abilities within that framework.

RE: Anyone familiar with the term "lightholder"
Hi Moonfeather,
Yes, I agree to all that, thanks for putting it into words!
Another time I was told that I am the "beacon of light" in my family. The other night at a medium circle when I was figuring out who an impression was for, I saw a lighthouse beaming light around the circle.
Holding a space of love and compassion also comes to mind. Simply being there and not necessarily doing anything. I don't consider myself a lightworker like some of my friends.
Also, this all ties into one of my power animals, owl. The owl person sees the shadow selves of others. People are often afraid of a person with owl medicine. People sometimes look at me and turn the other way, or I'll be in the begining of a conversation with someone and they'll break it off and walk away, mid-sentence. These are people I don't even know and at my spiritualist church! I also get people who get angry and say you can't see anything. It's easy for the person who has new age knowledge to say that defensively to me, a legally blind person. But then there are those who say thank you for helping me to see that. I must add that I'm no saint and have my own shadow self - may the light shine on me so I can see it!
Blessings,
Nancy

Hi Nancy, what a lovely description - a beacon of light for your family. I have a friend who fulfills a similar role in her family, keeps them all together and strong.

Ah, but being there IS doing something... just not physically so... 😉 Being a good listener or support is every bit as important as the more 'active' work of others. Holding a space of love and compassion... love it.
I have a touch of owl medicine too - can be disconcerting at times. As for seeing your own shadow self, isn't it true that by seeing the shadows of others, you find your self reflected? Sounds like you are doing valuable work, Nancy.
Blessings to you,
Moonfeather

Exactly! We are mirrors. It's so easy to get caught up in dualistic thinking and language.
And your right, being there is doing something. I have to stop undervaluing myself. It's just that I'm so impressed by my friends who are lightworkers and by their experiences.
Thank you!
