RE: Sacred places

I've just been thinking about some Roman ruins on the Greek Island of Paphos - I could hear the echoes of human voices down the ages in one particular spot.

I agree that Ephesus is astonishing.

Maiden Castle near Dorchester is extraordinary - wonderful, powerful 'sea-going' pagan energies from long ago there. The Chapel of St Cross with it's Almshouses just outside Winchester, too, and parts of Winchester Cathedral.

I have a pipe-dream about going on retreat on Iona - has anyone been there?

Iona? Never have made it there, but these people do annual retreats and are fascinating people...

For both me and my husband our "special place" is Whitby. Neither of us know why!!! We both live stressful lives and when we go (which we do every year) its as if a deep sense of calm comes over us. We love the place and really feel connected somehow. Oooo cant wait to go again 😀
Any one ever been?

Anyone ever been to Souyia, southern Crete, and made the walk to the Greek ruins about 2 hours' walk away, which are virtually unvisited?
