Hi everyone,
I have my first question for you all.
I am beginning my spiritual awakening, although I've obviously been on the path all my life, now everything makes sense.
I am learning and discovering so much.
I am starting to meditate more and concentrate on opening my third eye.
It starts with a vivid violet/indigo spot, and gets bigger and smaller with my breathing.
Today as I was meditating, it seemed to get bigger still until it was all around me, and then out of the blue I started crying/sobbing like a child.
It lasted a few minutes and then I felt peace again, along with a very soft touch to my left cheek. My breathing slowed again and I finished meditaing.
Was this one of my guides helping me?
Any more info on opening my third eye would be gratefully received.
Sorry if this has been covered before.

What a beautiful experience for you Gail. Yes it could of been a guide but to me it feels Angelic. Sometimes when you meditate & we go deeply we relax to such an extent that our charkes (energy centres) are very much more open & a lot of healing can take place. It sounds & feels to me like this is maybe what has happened here. If you imagain your heart Chakra as a beautiful flower that is opening up like a spring blossom... each time your heart opens up to not only give but recieve love for self then a few more of these petels open up to the light.
Keep up the good work Gail.

Starlight love & angels blessings Maria xxx

What a lovely experience Gail

Like Crystal Moonchild I think it was more an angelic presance rather than a guide, angels often come first when we are beginning to open. The crying is a release and a cleansing for you to begin your new jourey, I have encountered a lot of people who feel the need to cry when they first make contact with the angels or begin there spiritual journey - I remember the racking sobs I did for no apparent reason one day, lasted ages but felt very positive and cleansed afterwards. The best bit is when you start laughing hysterically for no reason and can't stop for 1.2 hour! lol

Hope you enjoy your continuing journey and the experiences that come along

With love
M!

Though I am not an authoruty to give my expert comments on anybody's spiritual experiences, I am trying to express my thoughts on the issue you brought on board by letting us know what you experienced. And thanks for letting us know it.

I believe that 'spiritual experiences' are not the matter of discusssion because these experiences have occurred at different level then than mental (level). When one puts them in words they (the experiences) become definately mixed with mental activities limitated by mental idea, by narrow and selective emotion or by the form of the temperament. What I mean here is that, it is rather very difficult or impossible for the beginers or middle level spiritual aspirants to express the real height of experiences due to limitations of 'not yet' fully developed mind, limitations of linguistic expressions of the spiritual ecstacies. Because of these limitations, people are drawn to make wrong or improper 'meanings' and analysis of such experiences.

Many times it happens that while experiencing these experiences, if one involves his/her mind more, the direction or the content of the experieces are altered and become more of an imaginative picture rather then a phenomena of change of consciousness or ascent to the higher consciousness.

I believe that in the spiritual path, the spiritual experiences are not the main aim, but rather, a means to go further in the journey. I would not give much importance to such experiece if it leads me to inflate my spiritual ego which ends in interrupting my spiritual progress.

Because of these dangers and pitfalls there is the vital necessity of the guidance of the soul or true inner Light, which "brings into all experience the tendency of light, of integration, of harmony and intimate rightness which is native to the psychic essence.

Whatever the spiritual experiences I come across, I offer them to my inner guide who is my Guru and God sitting at the center my spiritual endeavor, spiritual adventure.

Many times it happens that if a person has a spiritual experience more stronger (I mean, of higher in nature) then what he/she can bear it, a reactionary action, the gratitude brings person into emotional currents which can make a person cry with gratitude. But the end result is that it makes a person more quite and make more receptive to the next experience. Slow breathing and feeling peace are definately the byproducts in the spiritual journey.

Thanks

-Naru-

sometimes, I think that we lock up our emotions and when you meditate or relax, you release a lot.

I sort of tend ot the psychological explanation though...maybe a combination of everything :>
