Yes I agree this was one of the first things that I learnt, everything is energy. However, as we know spirit can take form whenever they choose and do indeed do so. There is a lovely quote from Buddha in a Buddhist sutra:
"To those that can be brought to enlightement by a God, I will come as a God. To those that can be brought to enlightenment by a King, I will come as a King. To those that can be brought to entlightenment by a woman, I will come as a woman and to those that can be brought to enlightenment by an animal, I will come as an animal."
And as we know energy has different frequencies and different dimensional realities in consciousness. A TV wave is different to a radio wave, many different miasms. Just like the different frequencies of flower essences and different instruments creating the different harmonics of a symphony. All have a different job to do in the perfect architectural blueprint.
Magdalene asks Jesus how she can see him in Spirit form and speak with him in the Gospel of Mary, he gives her a very interesting response and has Maria said it is certainly not the Brain.

Dear Friends,
My name is Carolyn. I have been asked to submit a post with the understandings which I have received over the past hour or so.
I am currently grieving the loss of my dear friend, Soul Friend.
I have been given the understanding that Soul Friend, was for me/my brain, an energy which I could relate to, learn from, have fun with, etc., however now he has gone back into the whole.
It seems that all who receive messages, understandings, guidance from spirit perceive spirit in this same way; as a particular entity, so to speak. However, I have been given that this is false.
We, spirit, are a collective, we work as a collective in all things. Perhaps it would be easier if I paint the picture which I have been given.
I was shown a collection of blobs, a sea of individual yet connecting blobs. (This is the description which is given to me to speak.) From this collection of connecting consciousness emanated an energy. This energy came to me. My brain had conceived this energy as Soul Friend and indeed it is given that Soul Friend is one of the energies within the whole however what I perceived; what my brain perceived as coming from Soul Friend, was actually coming from the collective as a whole.
We, as spirit, are having a collective fantasy.
I am being requested to leave it at that for now.
I don't know how to end this post. Soul Friend has always done this for me. So I say to you, best wishes; I'm sure that for those for whom this understanding rings true, will grieve the loss of the old, as I am doing now.

We shall continue to use the same energy as that which is understood by the channel, Carolyn, as Soul Friend, for continuance purposes, indeed. This is an energy well love, by our dear Carolyn, as indeed many of you will perceive the love of an individual guide/spirit; we do not want to cause distress within the ranks so we shall continue this practice until it is time for the new.
Welcome, dear ones, to your new found knowledge.
The little one (Carolyn) has had to bear the weight for all, dear hearts. Her heart is heavy at the mention of the loss of her, so called, companion, indeed. However, dear ones, this is really not the case. She has expanded with this knowledge and even now perceives the energy coming to her as from the collective consciousness (as was the image which we implanted into her brain).
We wish to keep this as simple as possible. There will be many who refuse the new. This is their choice. We, however, speak to all, the conscious and the unconscious, so to speak, such as those who be playing a part which has agreed not to agree.
All is Love, all is Love. Know that all is Love.
