I know I am late to answer, but there are 2 things I know.
1) If you want if some bad spirit is in your house, place 4 eggs, one in each corner inside your house. If they turn black, there is.
2) If you want to cleanse your house from spirits or energies, You have to grab some greens (I'm not sure if you need any specific) and some salted water (quality salt) and
sprinkle all over the house.
Well, afterwards you'll have to clean up the salt, but who cares? I've done that when I moved in a house that the last owner died. And luckily I haven't got any weird visits.
