The other night, I dreamt that there was a fete being arranged in a local school grounds. My daughter locked the gate to the school to prevent some hooligans getting in. I was walking past with my partner.

My son was sitting on the school step talking to some of the hooligans. He quickly got up, came down the path and out through the locked gate and came up to the car we were in. I was in the back seat with my partner and my daughter was in the driver's seat. Someone else was in the front passenger seat. My son got in to well of the passenger seat and we told him to stay down as the car was overloaded. He told us the boys had told him not to do whatever it was he said he was going to do or they were going to get him.

My partner then drove the car off and under a brick built bridge with only an inch to spare on each side.

It gets very confusing when people turn in to other people and change where they are, doesn't it? 🙂

Hi Ylangrose
It is interesting dream!
There is obviously a fear of hooligans and certainly with your son anything to do with them. You definitely feel the need to shield your family from such influences, hence locking the doors. Fear. You and your partner in the back seat is taking a step back and allow them to make their own choices, yet being available if and when they need you and then seen driving away could be an ability to reassert the control if need be.

Leaving the son to deal with his experiences the way he deems fit, is letting him be the man he will eventually become through the choices he makes.
It could also mean to include him in in more more subtle ways into the wholesome process of nurturing and helping him to mature - as families come together emotionally and by supporting each other they grow and learn together

Narrow path is exactly where it is like a razor edge to get the balance right between different polarities in life.
Only you can come to the right choices by tuning within
May all right choices be made!

Hello ylangrose,

When we dream, the brain picks the images from your memory that are the best fit.

Your dream is actually very clear in its meaning, so nothing to fear there. The images we see in are dreams are symbols and signs for what's going on in and around us.

The school fete is a reprentation of contented normality and the hooligans are a representation of fear that can take it away. The car represents control, and you being in the back seat is the feeling of being out of control. The bridge is about trust.

Putting them all together........

The dream is about the changes that are happening in your life right now. You are a mum bringing up your children and now they are maturing and developing their interests outside of the home.

But the dream isn't specifically about your children, it's a about you and how you're relating to the changes in your life. The focus is changing as the children become more independant, they want to spread their wings and do what they want.

You see your partner as the one who has the answers, or it may even surprise you that he has the answers when you trust him. But there is also an element that you feel you're fall between the gap between your children's and partner's love. Somewhere you've never been before.

HTH,
Myarka

Hmmm, thank you. That's very interesting. I should mention that my 'children' are 31 and 34 but it doesn't matter how old they are, they are still my children and so I am still there for them if they need my help.

I have always let them make their own decisions but always been there to guide them and help them where necessary, so that is right.

I'm wondering about the hooligan bit. My next door neighbour recently moved away. Her son was definitely a hooligan, often in trouble with the police. They moved out after dark one night and the next day, I noticed my heavy, well-pegged down garden swing cover had disappeared over my 6ft high fence. Everyone is convinced my neighbour took it. I am quite contented at the moment but this really bothered me.

People in our dreams are very often (usually?) aspects of ourselves, so changing form makes perfect sense (the person has not changed, it's just a different angle).
