over the years I have this dream about me going about my business and I hear of a problem in my area (in my dream) and I rush home and get my scanner which I fasten to me then it becomes a police radio and then I can communicate with the police. why do I keep having this dream can any one tell me? is their a meaning to it I've yet to work out?

So in your dream you work with the police?
Do you desire to change your area, to make it better place?
Do friends & family turn to you for support?
Is that how the dream ends - you're ready for action to help those in need?
It might just be your sub-conscious spurring you on to help others.
