I have had similar dreams to yours too. I think it means you are not in control, or at least do not feel in control, of your life at the moment. Any vehicle is our journey in life. Having no driver literally mean you are not in the driving seat. In most of my runaway vehicle dreams I am often in the back. (Taking a back seat in my life). Ive got to say they are not particularly nice dreams and everything can get very fast and out of control and I end up rolling over and over just as you describe. Strangely though I never seem to come to harm, either the dream changes or I wake up. When I have these dreams I think aboug what is going on in my life and where I feel out of control.
Sorry Veggie Girl...digressed from your original post - have you come to any conclusions about what it might mean.
I used to have a recurring dream that i was moving into the house i was brought up in, its over 20 years ago!!!! - I used to dream about it a couple of times a week for months. One day i realised that the dream was telling me i was living in the past, as soon as i realised this. I never dreamt of this again.
I do hope you get your message from your dream, so you can understand it and move on.
