sorry to hear you've had a row, hopefully things will sort themselves out for the better velly soon.
Yes, I hope it does. It's not like me to push for confrontation (which I did). Normally I'm so fearful of falling out with my friends (I think they won't want to be my friends any more) that I'm just totally conciliatory and back down. But this time I really felt badly done by, so I just removed myself from her presence and don't yet feel like seeking a reconciliation. Not to worry...
Vedic astrology is quite different to Western Astrology (Tropical), whose genesis is from the Chaldeans, Hellenistic, and Arabic sources. For a start the vedic astrologer has a different way of calculating the position of the planets and ascendant (minus the degrees of the ayanamsha for the year of birth). This is because the sidereal (star) zodiac is used rather than the sun. That's why all of the planetary placements will be currently 23 degrees 50 minutes behind the western zodiac.
Thankfully I have just moved out of a Saturn Dasha (it was 'orrible) and lasted about 20 years in my chart. I am personally glad to see the back of it, but I am sure some valuable lessons have been learnt.
If anyone wants to know more about Vedic Astrology in the UK BAVA (British Association for Vedic Astrology) hold regular meetings. I can also recommend a book by Komilla Sutton called The Essentials of Vedic Astrology, though I think she may have moved to the US.
I look forward to taking a look at the link you have given us Calla Lily and see what hope there is in the next few years. Thankfully in Vedic astrology a rather badly placed Mercury will move into a better position for me, so its not all bad.

I'd better stay in bed as mine was 33%. 😮 My birthstar is Hasta, which I quite liked. I can remember getting a Vedic Chart done when I went to see Amma one year and the astrologer suggested I did a certain Puja, which was far beyond my financial means. I've also had a reading from a relative whose a Vedic Astrologer. It is very different. For me the Moon in the tropical zodiac (western) is well aspected and placed, however it all changes with the sidereal zodiac and is not so. I better get off to a retreat.

i think you need a bunker rather than a bed binah LOL 😀 where i shall join you as my scoring was dismal too as with the prognosis of having a debilitated (sp) moon in scorpio-p'haps i should just end it all now as i'm doubly doomed!:011:

Hi Calla Lily,
Well I feel a bit more cheered up now after reading about Hasta (it was no. 13 though) as it has the quality to change and grow through conflict and crisis. Souls are guided toward renunciation, public service and becoming a sustaining power in the community (according to Komilla Sutton in her book The Essentials of Vedic Astrology) on the Nakshatras. the ruling deity is Savitar, personifying the soul, and deals with healing, regenerative energies.
I'm on my way to get some therapy tomorrow:).
