I did yoga regularly in my teens and this helped me so much. Im in my 30s now and dont do it regularly but really want to get back into it. I have 2 young children and hasn't worked in 3years. Recently I had a prophecy, shall we say to become a yoga teacher. This makes sense in so many ways, and might just save my sanity, and my relationship with my partner! Ive tried finding out how to train to be a yoga teacher, but I'm finding it really hard! Courses are too expensive, too long or too full time. Surely there must be a way of doing it part time and inexpensive, completing it this year? I live in Leeds. Can anyone advise? Thank u

If you reestablish regular yoga practice, you might find that your sanity and relationship with your partner save themselves - untangle themselves of their own accord.... 🙂

After you've been practicing for a while, once you're in a more relaxed state of mind, and if teaching yoga is still the direction you want take, you'll be able to consider your options more clearly....:

There are a number of quick and easy options I've seen over the years in terms of yoga teaching. Yoga is very much a way of life, I agree with what WildStrawberry says.. get back into it and see how you feel.. The faster road is not always the best, you have to think of your students, the methods, understanding the practice, the risks to yourself and others, some with very complex conditions, and you will have responsibility for their wellbeing and potentially any injuries which may occur, IF you are not fully qualified and completely experienced in what you are teaching. If you are looking at Yoga as a career, then the traditional long route, which can take several years, offers you a career which is long lasting, ethical, insurable, with complete and total competency, confidence AND support from your mentors on an ongoing basis.. and a totally new way to live your life, healthily, ethically and emotionally enriched.

If you had a prophecy to become a yoga teacher, then you must believe it is happening even if there seems no logical way this can be achieved. It will happen if you believe. I will tell you we run teacher training here at Yoga Dharma, Southend and I am always open to accept students who I believe should be a yoga teacher, even if they have no money. There may be ways you can repay a studio with work or skills you can exchange, get yourself into a regular practise and seek out a teacher who you can inspire you and believe. Yoga is about self transformation, it really works but you need to practise. Good luck.

Desperate to teach yoga

Hi Efia....the foregoing advice is good. If you are hoping to teach yoga it is vital that you start practicing daily right away and find a teacher that inspires you. It may be necessary to try several classes till you find the right teacher. Teaching yoga should always come from your own deepening learning and practice. This can take time and patience so it is best to start now making yoga your way of life.
I know you have a family but your yoga need not invade their space if you practice when they are not around or tucked up asleep in bed.
Best Wishes

Hey! I know this is an old thread but I am just seeing it now. If anyone happens to be ready for the experience of a lifetime..I did my Yoga Teacher Training course in India last year and I would HIGHLY recommend it! Not only do you get to be a certified yoga teacher but having that one month of time for you to set aside to focus on yourself, your spirituality, and your health is absolutely priceless. I went to Chandra Yoga International and had a great time. They have one month TTC's for around $1400 including all food and accommodations which is wonderful so then you don't have to worry about anything. Check them out!
