All

I do a yoga class at work once a week and would like to do more at home - can anyone recommend a home DVD?

I'd like something that covers all the body parts, at an intermediate level as I have some experience but not enough for the more complex positions.

Suggestions welcome 🙂

Cheers Rockys - do you have the masterclass or the essential guide? Not sure if I'd be ready for masterclass!

Hi Star04,

I've been using the Geri Body yoga. Katy Appleton, Geri's teacher is really good. I recommend this dvd.

p.s geri does talk as much as she did on her first dvd.

Hello friends. I wanted to suggest Bryan Kest's and Baron Baptiste's videos/DVDs. Baptiste is so precise and has a great spirit and teaching style. I can't keep up with Kest's vinyasa, but he makes you feel good about modifying, and emphasizes the right goals so I've hung out with it and learned so many great poses and strategies. I look forward to it every morning. I laugh sometimes that working with Bran Kest's 3 part Power Yoga series is like being in a yoga class with members of Cirque de Soleil (and I would have to be the one dropping in from the clown unit) but it's inspiring and never gets boring.

Im only a beginner myself but have tried lots of yoga videos/dvds and the best ones Ive found are the Yoga Journals series. You can get the whole 6 set on ebay or individually from the yoga journal website (I cant remember the url, but if you google it it will come up). Theyre thorough but not patronising in the explanations and the accompanying music/background etc is very relaxing. I had the Barbara Curry video and that was just annoying in comparison, she talks way too much.

anyways, just my 2p worth 🙂

Hi Y'all

I agree, Barbara Curry may be a wonderful rolemodel for beginners to yoga - she is 60+ after all! But I couldn't get on with her videos either! Gaiam do some quite good videos/dvds.(, and for just under £6 a month ( if you pay 3 monthly) you can have online yoga classes from beginner to advanced, there's also meditation and a forum for any questions you might have.

Hope this helps
Angie
