Hi, I've abandoned gardening for the day as, despite the sun, everything's so wet that I think I'm just wrecking the garden! However, it's brought me to start thinking about the summer...
I have a variety of pots and troughs, large to small and wondered if anyone could suggest some planting for them that would survive well, with me leaving them to go on holiday. So the plants wouldn't be watered for 7-10 days, 3 times, in spring, summer and early autumn. Most of the containers are in a very warm sunny position.
I know I'm asking a lot but all suggestions gratefully received. Thanks! Hom

Hi Hom
Catci....they don't need much watering!
could you not put a bottle of water in the pots with a hole in the lid and stand in with plants so they get a little water and give a good saturation before you go...and if the pots/troughs can be moved to shady area better. As for what to put in them.....do you like peppers/chilli peppers? tomatoes? Flower wise....carnations, geraniums, fuschias, pansies.....i could go on.......
Happy gardening
