Hi All,
Just found this forum and have a question for Merina users..
I had mine fitted just over a week ago-all went smoothly,no it wasn't a pain free experience but wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be....Feel fine,no pain or discomfort so far no side effects BUT I can't feel the strings....There wasn't much time spent on this-I was shown a diagram and told if I can't feel the strings get it checked.. Any help appreciated.. xx

Hiya Gull. I think you answered your own question, I hope you've been able to get it checked this week. The docs are there to support you, peace of mind, learning how to get it checked is all part of that. Hope you've got your peace of mind now.

Hi
I had the mirena fitted 3 weeks ago to try and reduce my heavy periods. It was fitted very quickly with a tiny bit of discomfort but no agony as I have read with others.
I have had a tiny show of blood the past few days similar to a very light period but not a real one!! I have not increased with weight or moods (so far, fingers crossed!)
I go away on holiday in 7 weeks and really do not want to be on my period. I was thinking of taking Yasmin pill once I did have another period just prior to and during my vacation. Does anyone know if this is safe to do so please??? Thank you

I expect Tashanie will be along shortly - she is a pharmacist, and will know whether using both forms of contraceptive is wise or not.
