Hiya,
I have a lump under the skin, tis very round and doesnt hurt. It is in my Perenium/entrance to vagina, i can grasp it betwwen my finger and thunmb if i place my finger inside (To graphic? Sorry). I have had it for a long time 6 months or so. As it never hurt i was not concerned. But am starting to worry. I will go to drs (when i build up the courage!) I just wandered if anyone else experienced anything like this??

Hi there, it sounds similar to a sebaceous cyst (a cyst in the oil gland in the sebacous layer of your skin I believe). Get it checked out -- don't let it burst or squeeze it. Although these are not dangerous or anything, if they burst the "sack" it is in can form other cysts.
This is just a guess, so don't go by what I say -- please see a doc. good luck, J

Hi Laura, I think you should go to the doctors this week, its always better to get these things checked out or do you have a gynae clinic you can drop along to. It may be nothing but better to be safe than sorry! :DIts also good to have peace of mind and if its starting to worry you, its better to be sure. When did you last have a smear? Are you due one? If you are book in for at smear at your local surgery and ask about it then. Hope it all goes well and keep us posted.

I have something which sounds just like your 'problem', in almost the same place. I found it 15 years ago, and can still feel it now, if I look for it!! I had it checked asap, and was told it was a Bartolins Cyst, and completely harmless. Once I knew it was innocuous I stopped worrying - but get checked anyway!

I agree with the others, go see your doctor, if it's something which needs medical attention the sooner the better. Equally it could be something like a cyst, but surely you're best to have peace of mind and no more worries about it. It can be embarrassing to see a doctor, if you're worried about who examines you you can request a female, it may also be worthwhile booking in for a smear just in case, they may well arrange one anyway.

Hiya thanks for all your help and support.
I went to see the nurse who brought in the doc, who made me an appointment with my pregnancy consultantant, and he said it is a cyst that has developed when i got repaired after a 3rd degree tear after the birth of my first born. They needed to know about it too as i am due to give birth to my second anyday and well it could have got nasty! im glad i went to see them. Although a bit nerve recking at the time
