RE: Hot flushes
Hi Lightwinds
I have put a post on the womens health section here about natural alternatives to HRT which you might find of interest.
If you have any questions please feel free to email me.

RE: Hot flushes
I've just started to take Sage Leaf in capsule form and I'm taking two morning and evening. Only been on it a week but I have to say that the flushes have reduced during the day! (I'm down to maybe two or three instead of on the hour every hour!)
Looking forward to it reducing at night!

RE: Hot flushes
Have you tried homoeopathy at all? If your tiredness kicks in about 3pm - can I suggest you give homoeopathic Sepia 30c a try
I find homoeopathy to be brilliant for my flushes. Although I use Lachesis for the flushes and Sepia for the mood swings. Just me I guess, but that's the way round they seem to work in my case, although it won't be the same for everyone. That's the beauty of homoeopathy. Totally individual.
RE: Hot flushes
Well said Lynne! Homoeopathy is wonderful - but there is a "but" in that it's so individual. Not that this is a problem to the patient, but it's an issue when there are so many remedies available and it's about matching the symptoms that an individual has and the type of person that the individual is with potential remedies. With regard to the menopause, it is slightly narrowed as so many menopausal symptoms are common to the state in question, so remedies such as Sepia do often "come up" in prescribing. Lachesis is great too if, as you say, it "fits" you. It was the tiredness during the day that Lightwinds described that lead me to think Sepia was possible. If the remedy is wrong - it'll do nothing so no harm done. Wonderful! 😉
RE: Hot flushes
Yep! As I said, totally individual. I love homoeopathy. It's done so much for me and my kids. Even my husband's slowly being converted. And believe me, that's a big deal[8D]
RE: Hot flushes
Hi -Newbie here!!
Have read all the posts on this topic and need advice! What is "Maca"? What is wrong with soya milk - am paniced as have been drinking it by the litre to stop the dreaded flushes!
Does anyone know when they will stop - was on HRT for a couple of years, but was unhappy with the idea so have been tolerating the flushes for four years or so, with no noticeable change - any advice/comforting words gratefully received!
