Can anyone suggest anything to help get rid of or sort out herpres? My sister has managed to catch them and shes devestated!:( All she does is cry and say that no man will everwant to be with her again! Its breaking my heart and i really want to help her, so if theres anyone out there who knows a remedy or anything which can help i would be most grateful.

Many thanks

RE: Herpes!

I have managed to find out through research that she will can use lemon balm on it and also tea tree oil. The doctor's have suggested that after she has a bath to use some sandpaper in that area. Also there's a really good herpes federation website i have found saying how its only as big a problemas you want to make it. I have given her all the infomation and shes regaining her confidence 🙂

RE: Herpes!

Sandpaper? I am sat here with my mouth wide open - your poor sister! I have lemonbalm growing in my garden - i am not sure what you would do with the lemonbalm but let me know and i am very happy to send you a plant in a jiffy bag -

i hope that she manages to get some good help and advice - i can't imagine how upset she is feeling.

Hiya RM

My jaw hit the floor when I read sandpaper too. But i found this artical, it not a lot of informations, but gives you the general idea of what the sandpaper is used for.

Hope it helps.

RE: Herpes!

Like yourself Angel my jaw almost hit the floor also " sandpaper " this is a new one on me an ive worked in gynae for years i gotta look this up but it sounds more painfull than the herpes .
I can understand how your sister must feel poor soul i feel for her also but this unfortunatley is a more common problem than you would think .
She will not get rid of them so to speak but she may never be bothered with an outbreak again , stress , upsets and when your immune system is low seems to trigger off another attack and of course you have to be carefull that you take precautions at that time, some experience bladder problems at the time of an outbreak.

As i have said the majority of people have few problems and it never rears up again . and this is what she needs to concentrate on and also if she did feel any kind of early symptoms to go to her gp right away in the future
The treatment is obtained from your doctor and is called Valaciclovir similar to what you would use for herpes simples ( cold sores ). There are topical preps some work some do not , i will look up my aromatherapy books as i know there are blends that help and im sure some others on here will have some good advice and may even have treated clients with good effect , the trick is to alleviate the pain and discomfort at the time .
I have heard lemon balm helps to soothe the affected area but never used it so cant make further comment .
hugs lynn xxxx
