Hiya

It may be that you need to go back to your docs and get a different lot of antibiotics: some do better against different infections than others.

When I was in your position nearly 20 years ago I was given a very low dose of one particular antibiotic to take for 9 months. It did the trick, but there was an underlying condition that was only discovered 5 years later (I have two deformed kidneys and this deformity led to stagnating urine and consequent infections). Be persistent and make sure your doc gets you thoroughly checked out.

And I agree it is depressing. Try taking Echinacea to help with your immune system - you can get it from Holland and Barrett.

Take care

Hi Katherine
Sorry to hear you are still struggling. One of the things that has helped boost my immune system is Cat's Claw. It's an Amazonian herbal remedy with some very beneficial effects, especially on the immune system. See http://www.vitaminstuff.com/herbs-cats-claw.html for info about it. You can get it from Holland and Barrett but I prefer to get mine from Higher Nature www.highernature.co.uk - they are also useful as they have therapists to advise you if you ask when you ring in.
I would also reccommend fish oils for omega 3, and evening primrose oil for omega 6 - both essential for the body cells to function properly - EyeQ is an excellent source of both, available on the high street - don't buy cheap oils as they are frequently contaminated/oxidised. Lack of omega 6 is often implicated in depression and can help to alleviate it. 3000mg per day in divided doses is a therapeutic dose.
Let us know how you get on.
All the best
Caroline
