hi all,
just a quick question, does anyone here suffer with endometriosis, i have had it for nearly 10 years from the age of 25 had 4 operations to help and am probably going to have a 5th i dont want to have any more as my stomach will start to look like a pin cushion, plus all that poking around i dont think helps. what i am asking is there anything that anyone has had that has helps, i also suffer with ovarian cysts, the myth having children helps is just that as have a daughter and have been in hospital 3 times since having her, trying to drink more water and eat better as i think diet is a contributing factor,
would be grateful for some advice.

Layla:(:D

Hiya Layla

I was diagnosed with Endometriosis and an Ovarian cycst in November last year. The pain got so bad that I nearly passed out at work with it. Anyhow after scans and consultations, the doctor put me in a medically induced menopause. (I am 37 by the way). This involves having a 4 weekly Zolodex implant in my tummy (It's just like a large injection), but it stopped my periods and hence no pain since. I also went on HRT, they took a few weeks to kick in, but now I am fine, no probs what-so-ever. I do take a high dose of Evening Primrose oil too.

I am on these for 6 months (got 2 to go), then after that apparently periods return, but I have been reading up and it can take months for them to come back, some people even say, they've never returned. That doesn't bother me as my child bearing years are over. lol But I think the idea of the induced Menopause, is to starve the endometrial lining of blood, hence they shrink right back.

Hope this helps.

Angel x

Hi Layla

I have treated many clients with endometriosis quite successfully. There are a lot of things you can do to help.

Try reading Patrick Holford's book balancing hormones naturally it's stocked in most public library's if you don't want to buy a copy it's a great starting point.

Hi Layla, I used to suffer from this for several years but unlike youself, mind totally dissappeared after I had my first of two children. Before that I went from operation to operation and having the pill to not having the pill but nothing worked. I feel your pain and hope it gets better for you soon. xx

Hi, I've had endo since I was 13, diagnosed at 40, great eh! I've had three beautiful sons, been on and off the pill before I decided that wasn't for me, used various hormone treatments, including the mirenea coil, that didn't work for me at all and ended up using natural treatments, check out Valerie anne Worwoood's "The natural endometriosis treatment programme". I admit I came to this late and after a partially successful endometrial ablation but it has really helped me.
Hope you find your way through this, it's horrible, but glad you have a diagnosis early on, now you know what you are working with,

love and hugs

hiya,
thank you for all your threads, i will defo get the book by patrick holfords thanks Chris, the valerie ann worwood book, is that a book on its own about endometriosis as i have the fragrant pharmacy it has a couple of remedies i was going to try, i have an appointment with my gynea doctor next week i ask them what i can do to help they just tell me 'go on the pill' which is not an answer for me been on it for ten years and dont want to be on it anymore. i dont have irregular periods like most people with endometriosis but do get the pain just not as bad as i used to but i know what it can get like if i dont get it treated, i just dont feel surgery is always best.
