Hello -perhaps you can help

I suffer from breast tenderness for up to 10 days prior to a period and for a couple of days after I've started. I go up at least a bra size and sometimes it's too painful to wear a tightish top let alone a bra! I've always suffered from tenderness but the last 10 months it has just go worse and worse; but I'm trying to avoid going to the doctor because my practice doesn't have a female doctor and men don't tend to see an issue with big boobs.

I'm on month three of taking 500mg Starflower Oil plus a multivitamin for women but as yet it hasn't made any difference. I take an over the counter diuretic for 5 days before my period and it does help but at that point 'the damage is already done' and I've grown out of my bra! Also, I can't imagine a 'hard hitting' diuretic is good for long term use.

Any advice would be gratefully received!

RE: Big boobs

Hi AFTR,

Welcome to HP, and welcome to my world! Funnily enough I've just been to the doc's myself this morning with a list of things going on including my ever-worsening PMT symptoms. I too, have been taking a mix of eve prim with starflower oil, albeit not very regularly. My symptoms also include being a snarly old mare or getting upset over the slightest things. It can hurt so much to wear my bra.

I definitely wouldn't go down the diuretic route, you could leave yourself further dehydrated. And when that happens, guess what? Your body holds on to more water. If you can get used to it, take a trip to Holland & Barrett and buy a box of dandelion tea bags. You get used to the taste after a bit: they act as a diuretic, but unlike any other out there, they're full of natural potassium, which helps your body balance water levels. Eat a banana too (also full of potassium) and you should really see a difference. I've also started exercising a bit more: breast tissue is mostly fatty tissue, therefore burning some calories all over will help the pressure in the cups department 😉 (I heartily recommend Davina McCall's first dvd, Power of Three) I'm on my PMT time at the moment and I have no tenderness this month.

I should also point out that I had never seen this particular doc this morning, and it was a chap. He was very understanding, and after some blood test results next week (keep getting sore throats, always tired esp. around period time, so being tested to see what immune system, etc, is up to) we're taking it forward from there.

I would really recommend booking in to see your doc, Hun. They could see if it's a hormone imbalance, or something else which can be easily treated. Please don't suffer without getting further help, and let us know how you get on.

Giving you a very gentle [sm=hug.gif] so it doesn't hurt,

RE: Big boobs

hiya ladies!

I have really bad pmt but if I take eve primrose oil tablets REGULARLY () it really makes a difference.

Im really bad at remembering to take it but if Ive been slacking I can really tell the difference. When Im premenstrual, little things can make me feel like my world has ended It sounds so pathetic but thats really how I feel!

My boobs (which are already a 'generous' 32DD) get so sore and feel like they are gonna explode. The heat they give off is amazing!!

However, again by taking the evening primrose tablets once a day (I take high strength 1000mg) this prob is lessened

Tx

You may also like to try manual lymph drainage - it is a very gentle technique and helps to relieveand congestion.

RE: Big boobs

Hi Everyone

I don't have problem with my boobs but my pmt used to be terrible as did my complextion i have found magnesium an excellent supplement. It helps to balance hormone levels as well as blood sugar!

I'm not sure if this will help but it did me when EPO and Stafrflower hadn't.
