Hi all,
My friend has a lot of skin tags (also known as pedunculated moles ie. moles with a stalk). Has anyone any ideas about how to get rid of them. She has been to the doctor who has tried burning them off (expensive and painful) and has also had some snipped off (even more painful). Does anyone have any other solutions or ideas.
Many thanks
Charisma
RE: Skin tags
I had electrolysis to remove them. It cost about £40 for half an hour and wasnt painful and worked well. You should be able to get a consultation at a beauty salon to see if it would be succesful. They couldnt do bigger flat ones without docs permission tho.

RE: Skin tags
I had some skin tags on my neck which used to catch on my clothes, very uncomfortable! I'm going back 30 odd years but my doctor told me to tie a piece of cotton thread tightly around each one (easier to get someone else to do it) and leave them until they go black and drop off. It does hurt initially, but after a week or so they do drop off and mine haven't grown back.
RE: Skin tags
I've had skin tags for years and seem to be getting even more as I get older. My GP said the same about tying cotton round them and they drop off. Only thing is mine seem to be in places that can be seen and I looked funny with pieces of cotton hanging everywhere. He did burn a couple off with dry ice as they kept catching on my bra strap and were painful. Never been able to find any other ways I'm afraid.
RE: Skin tags
Try the electrolysis, it does work.

RE: Skin tags
i know i will get slated for this and i apoligise but i used to (and still do)freeze them with an ice cube then snip them off with nail clippers, now im in my 40s i seem to get them often, unsightly little oiks.[:'(]
RE: Skin tags
Try using your own hair instead of cotton. I use this method, you cant see the hair as easily and you just snip the ends off anyway so no one should notice.
It is a bit fiddly and you'll need someone to help and of course someone elses hair if yours is too short!!!
RE: Skin tags
hi charisma, i would personaly recommend that your friend get them removed professionaly all though i have heard of several people removing them thereselves, find a salon or a clinic locally and ask them, it isnt very costly, and you have peace of mind that a qualified person has removed them, good luck
