Hi to everyone, I am new today and was hoping someone could help me out with a facial oil I am trying to make at home. I am using:
Frankincense
Carrot seed oil
Lavender
Neroli
I am using a 5% dilute in a base oil of avocado and sweet almond, I am worried about messing it up as the Neroli is an absolute and cost quite a lot, I am not sure how many drops of each oil I will need to get the maximum benefit for an anti-aging recipe, any advice will be gratefully received.
Hi Red Queen,
I make facial oils and also use Frankincense & Neroli. The carrot seed oil you can treat as if it were base oil but the other oils I generally use 6 drops per 30ml. I stay away from Lavender as it gives me terrible headache. I use a combination of Frankincense, Cedarwood & Neroli for mature skins. I use Neroli in a 5% dilution but find that 2 drops in 30ml is sufficient. I don't usually use more than 1% of aromatherapy oils in leave on products. You may also want to try a little Rosehip or vitamin E oils in the base to maximise anti ageing properties. Coconut oil is also very good for the skin aswell as being very easily absorbed.
Hope this helps 🙂
hi
i would like to put forward an alternative for anti-ageing cream, which does not include neroli, so you can worry less about the cost. the ingredients are:
3 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons wheat germ oil
1 ounce glycerin
1 ounce witch hazel
half ounce rose water
whisk ingredients in bowl until fully mixed and store in sealed container. the mixture can last a few weeks. if you decide to give it a go i hope it works well for you, but i'm sure after some tweaking with this or other products you will get the right recipe for yourself!
Thank you Annax and M.Y, sorry I have been so long in saying that but I lost my password. I liked your suggestions very much but need to ask Annax, the carrot seed oil, I thought it had to be diluted with another base oil, did not realise you could use it as a base oil...
Sorry RQ , I think I was away with the fairies that day (not unusual for me I have to say :p)!! Carrot seed oil you can use to a maximum of 0.01% and carrot tissue oil up to max of 10% according to my EU safety assessment. Sorry :dft001:
Thats ok, we all have days like that:) love your blog and website:)
The gel based cleanser works best to eliminate oil and clean out your pores or blackheads...Olive oil is best for your face mask because its excellent substitute for the expensive skin care crèmes and moisturizers.
