Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has heard of Emu oil and if so, is it really good? I hear it is really good for muscular and skin problems. Don't know much about it myself. A bit pricey so I guess it must be good?

Have you tried putting 'emu oil analysis' into google? Worth a look - it seems to be better for skin application, but you can get as good from flaxseed oil or hemp seed oil as far as I can see - I stand to be corrected though. I had heard very good results from it, and it has been thoroughly ridiculed by the mainstream, but personally I'd prefer to have the emus running around(!) and choose seed oil instead.

All the best

Caroline

Emu oil? Never heard of it. But then I have had my head stuck in the sand about these kind of things for years.

Thanks for your reply Caroline, I will look into the flaxseed oil and hemp seed oil, as well. 🙂

I used it on an arthritic finger joint everyday for a month early last year - I've never been sure whether it was the oil or the 10 minute massage that made the difference. Since I've been pain free since I suppose it must have been both!!! It is a skin application, not an oil for eating with! If you check out some of the Australian suppliers, it comes in a number of 'flavours'.

Have heard of emu oil but not any reports of anyone trying it - would be interested to hear how you get on Whispers

I was given some by an importer of the stuff at a running event I was working as a therapist. It smells nice and is really good to use - my hands felt great at the end of the day!

The chap that gave it to me claimed that Paula Radcliffe swears by it but I have no idea if this is true as she has never come to me for a treatment :(.

Hi there, I've been using emu oil for the last couple of years. It's brilliant, I have a dodgy shoulder & find if I do a lot of massage I get a sharp burning pain through my shoulder blade. When it flares up I use emu oil for a few days and it clears up. I get it from Pioneer Trading Company. If you go on their website it gives you loads of info.
Hope this helps 🙂

I've heard it's good for wrinkles but don't know much else about it.

I wonder if it would be okay to use it as a moisturizer around the eye area. Would my makeup crease because it's too oily? Would it give me milia? It supposedly sinks in better than other oils, but who knows?
