I'm a young woman who has been having urinary frequency problems for about 2 years now. Unfortunately it isn't cystitis because all of my urine cultures come back negative. I've also had a cyscoscopy and ultrasound but no problems were found.
When I wasn't dating I was able to get rid of the symptoms by taking cranberry and uva ursi pills but now that I'm having sex again the frequency has gotten much worse and the natural stuff isn't working. During the day I drink a lot of water but none the less there are many nights were I can't sleep because the need to urinate is so constant and irritating.
I'm wondering if anybody has experienced something similar. My doctor says it is definitely not an infection and doesn't appear to be intersistal cystitis. I have no pain, I'm not a very stressed person, I don't use spermicide... I just have the urge to urinate all the time and it is giving me insomnia and affecting my sexual health.

I'm sorry to hear that you're suffering. Obviousley no one can give you a diagnosis here & now However here are Just a few suggestions that you could maybe ask your GP to look into if s/he hasn't already. Sometimes People are very sensative to Sperm & develop a hypersensativity to it. Sometimes i can be the Latex from a Condom that is causing these reactions & or a spermacide. The other thing is that Thrush can I believe give signs & symptoms like Cystitits So get that checked also. & last but not least if your Virgina is a bit on the dry side it can cause Friction & this in turn can irritate the urethera.

A few things spring to mind.
One is that you could ask for a referral to a woman's health specialist - our local one has a great deal of experience with many different problems.
Another is that when you are urinating lift your heels -(sounds barmy, but it does help empty the bladder).
And another is that if you are suffering from urge incontinence - or at least frequence - train your bladder. Hold on. You shouldn't be going more than 6-8 times a day.
Another is that caffeine irritates the bladder. Restrict your intake of tea, coffee, coke.
Don't drink much after 6-7 pm.
Perhaps you can try a Reiki treatment - I had a client with a similar problem and she get twice the length of sleep after the treatment (6 hours).

As said, online diagnosis can only be very limtied in scope. However, in terms of Traditional Chinese Medicine, it sounds like a Bladder (who would have guessed?) meridian imbalance. Acupuncture or Shiatsu treatments could be of help. You say you have no pain. I take it to mean that there is no burning?

you probably do this but always make sure you have a pee directly after sex. also, do you always use the same postition? might be worth trying lying on yr side as this can be less aggravating.
