Hi...Hoping someone will have some knowledge or info. A routine ultrasound before christmas showed i had a 'spot' on my liver. I was sent back for a rescan in January to have this confirmed -which they did. A 5cm growth on the right lobe. The doctors decided to wait for a few months to see what happens. I go back next week for a rescan. What should i expect? What could this growth/spot be? Should i be concerned?

Thanks

Any advice would be great!

I'm not sure that liver ultrasounds are done as routine, have I missed something here? Looks like there's some context here that's missing.

Other than that, I wonder how many of us have lumps and bumps all over the place and live long lives without any knowledge. Maybe it's better if we don't go for routine tests.

Nevertheless such news is always alarming, it seems to be a normal reaction. Whilst probably nothing serious it may all the same be a kind nudge from nature to change something - in the modern world most of us have very hard working livers, we ignore its calls for mercy at our risk. Luckily it also lets us know in plenty of time that it needs some kindness, if we are listening.

Sorry, I'm rambling now. Anyway, best wishes.

Hi thanks for reply.

Routine ultrasound following previous DVTs. Routine for me anyway! I dont think they are connected - maybe they are!

I guess I will find out more information next week when i get the next scan. Was just hoping someone out there had had similar experience.

Thanks
