Hi everyone,
I have read the threads relating to the above with interest as I am currently experiencing discomfort. I have a feeling similar to the acid burning felt by cystitis sufferers ( I have had cystitis a few times but not for years) I have this discomfort in my nether regions (I am female) & it is very dispiriting! I have suffered from this before & it has cleared up.
The other difference I note is that I do not have the need to go to the loo any more frequently than before (even without this condition, I drink quite a lot of water throughout the day) I have upped my water consumption in the hope that it will help the burning sensation but haven't had to go to the loo any more frequently than before. When I do, I wee quite normal amounts (well normal given the amount of water I am drinking)
Early on in the day when I haven't got going on the water, my wee has felt "hot" & has an almost wheaty smell.
I first noticed this complaint on Friday, an hour or two after having a couple of glasses of red wine. I had a little Potassium Citrate in the cupboard & this (I presume) after a while eased the feeling in my nether regions. I was ok ish both Sat & Sun & then made the mistake of having a small glass of wine Sun eve! Today Monday, it is a bit grim & I feel a bit fed up.
What can help me? I have read various web sites (& I found this one!) Some talk about candida & dietary help. Unfortunately the diet solutions are often contradictory! I have recently cut out bread from my diet (thought it would help trim my tummy) & changed to rye/sour dough type bread - I have now read on some sites that this is a no no for candida?!
Some sites also say cranberry juice is very helpful but again the candida sites say no?!
Has anyone any ideas? I would go to the docs but I am not sure that I have a urine infection as when I have had an infection before, the burning was a lot worse, I felt the need to pass urine very frequently & only passed small amounts each time.
You really must go and see your GP, there are many things that could be causing your symptoms and only a doctor is qualified to give advise.
Myarka.
I agree if you're not sure what it is you should always go to the doctor. If it is cystitis then uva ursi tincture (bearberry) is the number one herb for treating cystitis. Check out this link
I'm so sorry to hear what you are suffering through, its not fun is it? I am off to see the doctor on Monday, a specialist who can perhaps tell me what the heck is going on with my bladder. I think it may be overactive, crampy and painful with a desperate need to GO. Does anyone know anything natural that helps? I hate taking prescription drugs and would much rather something without side effects.
Over here in the States we have an over the counter medicine that can bring instant relief, its called AZO. It will not get rid of whats causing the problem but it will numb the area so you can get to the doctor as soon as possible.

If you list the symptomes and complaints one by one, it's possible
to arrange an acupuncture scheme easy enough to do oneself as the
points may be located on fingers joints, for example.
