RE: Gilberts disease
Bit late in the day, I know, but worth checking this out.
GILBERT'S SYNDROME - a patient's guide
Dr Philip Wong - Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist
Gilbert's Syndrome
Gilbert's syndrome is a common inherited disorder that affects the processing by the liver of the pigments in the bile called bilirubin. This results in an increase in the level of bilirubin levels in the bloodstream and can lead to a yellowing of the skin and the eyes, that is jaundice. The liver itself is otherwise normal and people with Gilbert's syndrome have a normal life expectancy. It is common and not a dangerous condition in any way.

Although the medics don't get too excited about as life expectancyis'normal'. Doesn'tmention quality of life though, soyou may want to consider some extra support for you system i.e. nutritional advice, TCM acupuncture or homeopathy, etc.
Good luck - Andrew.
It's not a disease, it's a gene. I have been living with it since April 2007, when I became ill...it is absolutely nothing to worry about, it can be managed by avoiding certain foods, paracetamol and alcohol. Resting frequently, and being kind to yourself, no over excertion and avoiding stress !
I have posted in the other liver thread about the food types to avoid, and there are two websites online, one factual - one an American help group.
