Have put this post in womens health but wondered if it might get a reply in this forum.
Can anyone reassure me about having a flexible cystoscopy? For about 18months i have occasionally noticed pink tissue on wiping myself after taking a wee. Sometimes i get quite a lot each time for a few days and sometimes i get an infection with it. I always without fail get an infection after travelling abroad even though i only drink bottled water. My doctor sentme to aspecialist who wants me to have a scan and a flexible cystoscopy which i am really nervous about. Five years ago i had a hysteroscopy and 3weeks later had to have hysterectomy. Im just 41 years old, could this be menopause? I have had at least 7 bouts of infection this year, more than in my whole life. I now have another infection and am bleeding a lot, my doctor prescribed antibiotics over the phone this time because i was too bad to get to the surgery and said give it a couple of days. I dont drink any caffeine, but lots of diluted barley water.
RE: cystoscopy
Hi , i have to get a cystoscophy as well due to a bladder problem, i am told they are very gentle and they will give you a local anesetic in the area so you will feel nothing /very little , hope this puts your mind at ease . P.S Im male so its even worse for me !! think your self luck!
