I was working with a person a very long time ago and he was shouting in my face & constantly having a go at me that everything I did was wrong. He was very aggressive and almost throwing things at me at one point. One time he was really shouting at me and it was hard to fight back the tears so I dashed off and disappeared into the nearest toilets to have a good cry. I'm even slightly embarassed to admit it to be honest because it makes me look like a right softie. If it was now I would probably fight back and have left completely. Anyway when I returned he started trying to pacify me like a small child saying things like 'what was that all about' and 'why are you crying?' like trying to console a child. I think this is very manipulate and pretty disgusting. I am so annoyed at myself that I fell for it as well. He even had the cheek to say you just need to toughen up like he knew what he was doing and enjoying it. I think this is pretty sick. What do people think about this ??

Is this a therapist you saw? Yikes! It sounds like it definitely wasn't the kindest approach. When I was working with Core Energetic Therapists they would intentionally try and trigger me at times to bring out my anger and take me through a process. The way you describe your practitioner though it sounds like they were more egoic than helpful. I'm sorry you had to go through that.
