I just had a practise performed on me by a practitioner I know so not sure if she's following his system. It was just the information I found on Google.
Probably all tuning in with the same energy stuff and healing on deep levels. Was good though.

Not shamanism, though. And not retrieving soul.
Well it says it's a modern form of celtic shamanism so it must have some roots in it somewhere.
Are you one of these purist types where nothing is what it's meant to be or real ?? 🙂
I have no problem with things that are not shamanism, but shamanism has a specific definition. It's not just any energy work. Just as Reiki and spiritual healing are not the same thing.
To be shamanism, the shaman journeys to the spirit realms, with the help of his/her own spirit friends, to bring back healing, power and/or information for the community (who might, of course, be an individual client).
In a soul retrieval the shaman will go in search of the soul part and negotiate with it to come back. S/he will most likely have checked you over first to see that nothing has got into the space the soul part left (an intrusion). S/he will then explain to you what has been done, why the part left, what you need to change in your life in order for it to stay. S/he will also have made sure that you know how to integrate the newly returned part.
There are many other things that shamans might do as well, that are not - strictly speaking - shamanism, but the shamanic trance journey that allows the shaman to go to the spirit worlds will be part of it.
