I am really frustrating myself over a decision I need to make. Its not the most hugely life-changing one, but big enough. its just whether to move (rented) house or not.
I have ummed and ahhed about moving as the reasons to stay where I am now have gone (my friend I originally house shared with moved out, her brother who is neither my friend nor foe moved in, I've changed jobs & personal circumstances).
I have found one in the same village that I can afford (like gold dust) through a friend of a friend, but am totally completely swinging from having decided yes, to move there, and no, don't move there. I make up my mind for "certain" one way, then when I least expect it I swing the other.
Sorry this is turning into a bit of a mind dump 😮
I have taken Wild oat flower essence, which is for indecision (soon after I did another U turn, but have done several since then ) and have asked spirit guides in meditation (they just said I'd make the right decision - helpful, if a little vague ) and, well... I really need to make my mind up, soon, in order to not mess either landlord around. I have verbally accepted new place, not put deposit down yet, but something is stopping me from telling my current landlord - maybe because something isn't right?
Pros and cons
For staying put:
its easier - less hassle
I like the area, my room, I have my own kitchen and a lounge room
Against staying put
Things my friends bro does make me feel uncomfortable in my own home - nothing bad, and when talking to friend about it he was always like that when they lived with parents, and I have asked him to change habits to no avail, so I'm stuck with it.
My shower died, which means I have my own loo and sink, but have to go next door (to landlord and friend's parents' place) to use shower - its apparently complicated to fix and isn't getting done any time soon. Meanwhile its coming up to summer and I feel I need my own shower! this is the main motivating factor to move.
Whilst they say I'm welcome to stay as long as I want, they want to convert the houses at some point in the future, so I feel as if I'm delaying that.
For moving into the property I've seen:
I would have my own space - bedroom and ensuite
... with shower 😉
Against moving there:
I would have to share a kitchen, and wouldn't have a lounge area, just my bedroom
Its small - I would have to declutter (could also be a positive!)
Its quite dark, considering I need to work from home quite a bit, I'm concerned about the lack of natural light - okay I could use daylight bulbs but it can't be the same?
I would have to get mobile internet there, and don't like exposing myself too much to mobile phone frequency vibrations.
I'm not convinced the landlord doesn't have other plans for it in the future which he isn't divulging to me at the mo; I dont' want to move and then have to move again.
Any advice, or a slap around the chops would be VERY welcome. I'm pulling my hair out and feeling very frustrated!
🙁
Just curious about your comment re the lack of shower in your present digs - are you on a contract? Do you have a rental agreement? Whenever we have been in rented flat/houses, it has always been the landlords responsibility to make necessary repairs to 'failures' or 'breakages' - and being without a basic requirement such as a shower (unless there is a bath somewhere?) may contravene your agreement and he could face problems should you chose to have a chat with a solicitor.
Having read your post a couple of times, I think you want to stay where you are, but get rid of the lodger. The second option doesn't sound like a good one.
Both options are a compromise and therefore it would be worth exploring the third. Staying seems intolerable and moving to the other place is not ideal. Therefore, ther right solution is something you don't know about at the moment.

Stay for now but be open to other possibilities. I don't like the sound of darkness and a shared kitchen and no private lounge.

Hello Naturally,
I agree with Jabba, your landlord is breaking every rule in the book by failing to provide you with adequate washing facilities, the fact that the shower is complicated to mend, and no doubt expensive is not your problem, you have a right to withold rent until he remedies the situation.
My intuition is telling me that the new place is not for you, far better to get the shower mended and advertise for a new person to share with as you are not happy with your friend's brother.
Let us know how you get on.
Love

Thanks all. I mused on a thread a little while ago about manifesting abundance - think I need to manifest that 3rd option, which is what I think I know inside but needed help to realise 🙂
Ooh, I'm a bit late it seems for this problem. But I find the I-Ching useful when I have big decisions to make. If you have trouble making decisions in future, or come to crossroads, you may wish to investigate the I-Ching.
