My husband (44) of 7 months, has been very tired, grouchy (being nice here) and very depressed for over a year now.
In the last few months it became worse. It has hurt our relationship & marriage.
Much has happened to him in the past year including the death of both parents, marrying and buying a new home. So I could understand him being depressed.

He finally went to a DR. Who did bloodwork and told him his testosterone was low. 240 I think.
He put him on the testosterone replacement (androderm 5 mg) patch.
He said he felt this would show him a "100% improvement"in his depression, fatigue etc.

After doing many searches on the web, we cannot seem to find how long it takes, before you start feeling results? And what kind of results to expect ?
Will he still need viagra?
He did not think to ask his Dr. these questions.
Thanks for any input into this!

RE: How long before husband feels better?

Hi Debbie,

I do not know about testosterone patches and their effectiveness but the three most stressful events in anyone's life are bereavement, moving house and getting married.

To have four of these events in one year does seem to indicate an immense stress level. From what I have read, it takes about 12 months to deal with just one bereavement but with four events, all at about the same time, I don't know how long.

I think that your patience, love and understanding are going to be tried to the extreme.

I hope the patches work and shorten what might be an extended recovery period.

Your love and understanding will also be of great benefit to your husband and help to shorten the recovery period.

I wish you both a speedy recovery and a happy and fulfilled life together.

Sending you healing to help.

(An idea - have you thought of posting a request for healing in the Healing & Prayers Forum.)
