Hi all 🙂 I have this painful condition, and damaged it in a boot camp style class (feel stupid) I am doing everything, including stretches, massage, an ayurvedic oil that my practitioner prescribed, and night boots.

Oh yeah, Reiki as well.

Anyone else have this condition? and is it something that can be healed for good? or is it something to live with forever?

Hi, I have this condition as well. When it was bad I varied the size of balls from golf to tennis and rubbed it along the underside of the foot (ie ball on floor and moved foot forward and back over ball, but only for 5 - 10 minutes a day) that seemed to help. In shoes I got some gel half soles for top part of shoe which i have found helped a lot. I also do foot massage on it and found that helpful.....generally at the momet its fine, but it does flare up from time to time so I don't know if there is a permaent cure. My dr wanted to do steriod injections but I wore a bangage (support) when it was really bad which helped a bit and no I didn't have steriod injections.

Hiya,

I had this condition for months back in 2006, it got so bad I wasn't walking on my foot properly and getting knee and leg pain as a result. I tried a lot of different things ie anti-inflammatories, ice, rest, stretching, reiki, gel heel pads etc and it was only getting worse. I ended up having two lots of steroid injections, the last in Oct 2006, and it has never come back. 🙂 I do make sure that the shoes I wear a lot has a good gel heel pad in (Boots ones are fab). I do 10 mile walks now and it hasn't flared up at all (fingers crossed!!) mind you everything else hurts after a long walk!:p Hope you find something that works. 🙂

Have found that Emmett technique and Bowen technique work well for plantar fasciitis - one of the first cases that came through my door as a new therapist was a neighbour who had something with a latin name that hurt his feet! Two sessions and his pain was gone. so it's really worth a try.
Hope you'll be better soon. JJ

Thank you 🙂 This gives me hope. Everyone always has told me that it won't go away forever, I will never be able to do high impact things anymore (I am wary of that anyways after the way I injured it)

I will look into the Emmett and Bowen technique, thank you 😀

Also had this since Dec last year. All other member's suggestions really helped too. One thing physio told me was to avoid wearing flat shoes or no shoes if possible, as no support, also said wouldn't normally recommend heels, but in this case she does.

best thing for plantar fascitis

It might be worth wearing a splint when you sleep. It keeps the sole of your foot in an extended position.
You can get these at pharmacies.

Hope it helps...

I used to wear a splint to bed. Then I started wearing a compression band. It's more natural and not as bulky. I got mine from a place in Canada. Pretty efficient and I have fallen in love.

Hope it helps! Cheers mate!
