I have been having physio for medial compartment syndrome and yesterday my physio also gave me some accupunture. My ankles are all stapped up at the moment and I'm really starting to feel quite low with it all.
I've been reading up on the condition and it seems that it's not something that you can prevent from recurring unless you stop doing the activity that causes it. Since mine comes on by just walking, there's not much chance of that.
If what I've read is correct, the only option really is surgery, which I'd rather not have!
Does anyone have experience of this condition? And if so, what can you tell me about it?
Hi Nefra,
I don't know who said that surgery is the only option, but I would certainly get a second opinion. Having problems with my own feet brought on when running, I consulted a chiropodist. He diagnosed the cause of the problem, and fixed it without surgery. The cost was £40 and worth evrey penny.
Tomorrow I will be running the Great Scottish Run.
With love and light,
Sue.
My physio hasn't mentioned surgery and there has been a massive improvement following the two treatments I've had. It's what I've been reading that says about surgery. I'm just concerned because just every day walking around aggrevates it, but it's not really bothered me too much in the past. It's only really since I've taken up running that it's become unbearable.
What did your chiropodist do to fix it?
