A client had a heart attack 6 weeks ago and will be having a heart by-pass at the end of Sept. Would it be advisable to give him any sort of treatment in the meantime before his op?
Reiki can do no harm, so try that.
I would say very much so but for them to get permission from their GP or consultant beforehand as you will all be working as a virtual team if you see what I mean.
I understand that massage has more contra indications than reflexology so reflexology or Reiki may be more appropriate.

I would only recommend Reiki. Reflexology and massage would from what I learnt on an ITEC course (2009) be contraindicated with his condition and i would definately make sure you talk to his GP first if planning on giving any other treatment than Reiki. Reiki would really help him relax and cope with the emotional stress that he must be under waiting for his treatment. I hope it all goes well for him.:)
Reiki will not harm them.It only goes to where it is needed.
Also best to have your client speak to their GP and let them know they are having this treatment first.
Take care

There can be one point marked green on the finger joint,
which has mostly controlling function.
I think a gentle massage could be very healing, considering the psychological benefits of touch, shown in clinical research, particularly reducing stress, that pre-surgery anxiety can cause.

I've worked in cardiac rehabilitation for many years and I would definitely recommend Reiki, remember it works on many levels
Massage and Reflexology would be beneficial but as others have mentioned it's important that your client consults with his GP and that all parties work together as a team. If you are an aromatherapist then essential oils could also be incorporated.
Good luck with it angelhealer
