Hi,

I have a client who has been coming to me for over a year. Tonight for the first time on this client i did mld massage. She mentioned that she had two lumps in her armpits and big arms where the biceps are that are very tender to touch.

I advised her this is due to blocked lymph nodes (however they were very enlarged) and her arms were full of water/fluid. I believe this is because the lymph is blocked and cannot drain the toxins/water.

She also commented on the thighs being sensitive and i feel they are larger than her body proportion. She is what i would class as a decent 14-16, but not too overweight looking (hope this description dosn't sound offensive), to me she has a curvy figure very well toned but her larger arms and thighs look out of place.

Is this due to blocked nodes and will the mld help her in this situation.

She visited her doc 3 years ago who said it was nothing!!???!!!

It is obviously causing her some discomfert.

Please help i am seeing her today at 2pm.

Thanks

RE: Swollen/blocked lymph nodes

They may just be swollen due to excess tissue fluid, but they really aught to be checked out. If 3 years have passed since the last time, then she aught to go back to GP to have these checked.

Swollen axillary lymph nodes can be a sign of breast cancer, so a letter to GP voicing these concerns will also prompt them to take another look and win you some brownie points in the process.

Andrew.

Hi hun,

thanks for your promp reply.

Her doc dismissed it as nothing 3 years ago and she thougth she was making a fuss. I did stress to her tonight that the nodes there are draining her breasts and if they are blocked toxins can stay trapped in the area.

Hopefully she will get some relief from the MLD and I will stress to her tomorrow to return ASAP to her GP!

RE: Swollen/blocked lymph nodes

3 Years is a long time and a lot can happen in between.

Depends how big they are and if they have got any bigger in the meantime.

She could always see a different GP at the practice.

Significantly swollen lymph nodes in that area should be taken seriously, especially if it's just the one side.

And.

RE: Swollen/blocked lymph nodes

Thanks

I spoke to her today and she is seeing her doc tomorrow.

Her lymphs are like golf balls under both armpits and she has terrible water retention and tenderness on both arma and both thighs.

I suggested the other night it may be lymphodema so we will see the outcome.

I will keep you informed - but thankyou very much for your help! It dosn't matter how long you can be doing a job things still come up and stump you!

Yes, but you never forget the more interesting ones!

Let's hope that's all it is.
