Can Prescription medications hinder the benefit of aromatherapy and similiar treatments.
I guess it will depend on the medication and the reason for treatment and what treatment specifically you are referring to.
However, most therapies work to complement orthodox medicine rather than as an alternative and any complementary therapist should take any orthodox medication into consideration when treating you.

Thanks. I've been on heart medication and began to experience many varied symptoms, many that I would never have associated with such, (Eye problems and depression being worst effects) but since coming off them, I can't believe the difference. Would love to hear if there are others have experienced the same. Meanwhile I did have some aromatherapy treatments during the bad patch and found them very benificial in that they helped to relax and ease the depression. Will give more details if anyone wishes for more.
Do you believe there's a connection between your medication and the aromatherapy? If so, I believe you can leave such information with your GP or pharmacist and they can report this back to the manufacturers of the medication to further their information on the product. 😉
Did you read the leaflet with your medication? It should list all the side effects.
I am sure that you consulted with yr GP before you came off the medication rather than just stopping because you thought it was a good idea...
Thanks for replies. Yes, GP and Consultants are well aware of all. It was on their advice that I came off what I was on and am now on a new course. I would like to have aromatherapy again as really feel it was a great stress breaker and helped ease in many ways, so hope the tablets don't interfer.
