Well most people don't know about my condition, lymphangiomas, which are lymph vessel tumors. Mine are benign tumors, so they aren't cancerous.
I've had over 20 laser surgeries to "burn off" these tumors (they are on my stomach).. the doctors went through 2 lasers and after a while they would stop working.... the doctors say that unless I keep trying lasers they could just remove the area (which they could do since they found out that they aren't connected to any of my organs, so removal would be easy)...
I don't want to remove the area since it is on over half of my stomach... they are mostly on my right side they are from my belly button to my side/hip area... and it goes from above my belly button to my private region (right on the natural line that your hips make).. but it is spreading up, lower, to the left, and more to the right...![]()
I hope that makes sense...
I've had this since I was about a toddler and they have gotten worse over the years.. you can feel them when they come up through the skin.. it feels like a hard rock of pain... They are harmful to me in a way... say if I got hit really hard in the stomach, enough for them to bleed... I would need to be rushed to the hospital, because if they get infected then it will spread through my whole lymphatic system and I could possibly die.. now you know why I hated dodgeball, lol ![]()
I'm glad I stopped the surgeries a couple years ago...cause after a surgery I wouldn't be able to bend over or wear tight pants for a week...
Plus for about 7-8 years i had to bandage my stomach... 2 times a day, every day... but that stopped a couple years ago, with the surgeries...
It sounds like a lot to go through...but I'm getting through it day by day... ![]()
I'm wondering if anyone else has lymphangiomas?? *they aren't always located on the stomach, they can be anywhere...*
If you do...maybe tell me your story (either on this thread or you can pm me)..
I'm trying to do research on my condition, find other people who have it, and maybe start an organization and just maybe find a cure for it...
Thanks for reading..
RE: Lymphangiomas

RE: Lymphangiomas
Hi drummerwannbe
Are you in the USA? Do you have a lymphedema therapist? He/she would be able to give you advice.
I have seen people who had developed lymphangiomas as a result of lymphoedema (in thelegs)- a couple have had dermabrasion to try and get rid of them. Not always successful and very uncomfortable.
I think if the surgeons were to remove the affected area, they would have to do it in stages, as you would require skin grafting. Have you spoken to any lymphologists in the States? You could do a websearch for the International Society of Lymphologists.
RE: Lymphangiomas
thanks for the advice.. and yes... I do live in the U.S. 🙂
I don't have lymphedema....but maybe if I talk to the people you mentioned I could understand my condition more...:D
thanks again!
