Hi
Just want to sound something out. I've had a request from a prospective client for a treatment. He tells me that he's Type 2 diabetes and also has really bad circulation problems. He says that his circulation is so bad that he gets cramps regularly. He has requested a treatment to help with all of this. As long as his medication is controlling these problems (he's on medication for both problems) then I'm ok treating him with either an Aromatherapy or Swedish Massage aren't I? (obviously using suitable oils).
Just want to double check that no one thinks I shouldn't treat him.

Hiya
You can help this guy if he has pins and needles etc in his legs, but I wouldn't recommend Swedish massage as that could cause damage that he wouldn't feel. A gentler aromatherapy massage would be much better. I would also make sure you check his legs to see if there are ulcers. Maybe use oils such as lemon and peppermint on his legs. I've had amazing results with varicose veins with those oils in the past. I'd also use macadamia, hemp or jojoba oils.
let us know how you get on please!
Obviously you need to check the small print on your insurance policy too, as some require that you get your client to check with their GP first if they are on medication.
Thanks - I'll do a gentle aromatherapy massage with these oils and make sure I check everything out first. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your advice Chris. I used the oils that you suggested and on my follow up call, my client told me that the tightness and soreness had gone out of his legs so it seems to have worked. He's going to see how the cramping goes this week. But I think I achieved a result either way. Thanks very much.
