Hi
Anyone know any remedies for VERY painful neuralgia in the face/down the cheek?
It's for a friend.
Many thanks x
There is a bio - chemic remedy Ferrum Phos which I have used on several occasions over the years to cure painful neuralgia. Ticdoleroux, nubness, neuralgic pain respond to bio chemic remedies very effectively. 6x potency should do it. Avoid administering it before bed time tends to keep you awake.
Yes - anything that will resolve the underlying cause!
Hi Cinnamon
Oh, that sounds awful. What can you tell us about your friend's general health? It's not easy to offer suggestions without knowing a little more about the person suffering from the condition. The cause of one person's neuralgia is not the same as another's.
1. stress levels
2. eating habits
3. lifestyle (work hours, exercise, hours of sleep)
4. how long they've had the condition
5. general health
6. age, gender
Alternatively if you just want a lucky-dip and see what has worked for other people for whom you know none of the above, you could go to Earth Clinic and see what they have listed for neuralgia. Be careful though... and apply common sense when looking over the suggestions.

Do you grind your teeth? I ask this as i am becoming aware of people suffering from Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN) and what you describe is similar to the major symptoms. It can be helped with EFT but as yet I know of no total cure. If you need to look up EFT, here is a free manual writen by the developer, Gary Craig.
Thanks so much, everyone! I'll definitely be mentioning the ferrum phos. to him; and I've checked the Earth Clinic pages.
Good point re any underlying health issues/causes.
Really appreciate your answers.
Hi Ava/Cinammon, to that list I'd add dental history. Metal fillings can have strange effects, and the anaesthetics used can lodge in the nerve for a long time and create problems too.
At the end of the day, any kind of neuralgia is a toxic problem in the nerve, whether build-up of inflammatory products in sciatica, cell changes in shingles, or this. Getting to grips with toxicity, local and general is crucial, that's going to be unique in every case.
