Hi ,
I've never had any problems with my jaw, teeth, cheek or anything around this area but recently the left side of my jaw has started to sometimes lock, then it unlocks..didnt take much notice but now its happening more often. My cheek or jaw has become quite painful if i try and open my mouth fully and sometimes locks so that isnt possible. It's weird and i wonderd if anyone has experianced this and knows how to overcome it or what it could be!
thanks!!

Hi baby-bex
I am a qualified dental nurse/reflexologist. With 20 years of dental nursing I have seen many jaw problems, with yours being the most common. The TMJ - Tempromandibular Joint is usually the culprit, it is next to your ear. This sometimes comes out of position when yawning, eating something tough like an apple or crusty bread. First start some exercises to strengthen the muscles and ligaments that support this joint. First close your mouth, and put your tongue on the roof of your mouth, then put your tongue as far back as it will go whilst still touching the roof of your mouth, now try to slowly open your mouth, without moving the tongue from its position on the roof of your mouth. Do this at least 3 times a day and things should improve. Also, avoid crusty bread, yawning to wide and cut up things like apples to avoid overstretching your jaw.
Hope this helps
Hi Baby-bex,
Are you angry or resentful over a situation which has (to use your word) "recently" started going on your life? If you can change your thinking pattern which created this condition for you, it will go back to the nothingness from wence it came. Forgive those who are affecting your thinking (including yourself) and release the negative thoughts you are hanging onto. The situation affecting you is for there specifically for you and your reaction to it. It is there for you to react, or not react, and it is your choice. Let it go, or not.
Cheers
