A friend of mine has just started yet another diet. I am looking for a website/websites which can explain to her why dieting doesn't work. The way forward is surely just good healthy eating, avoiding rubbish. Can anyone help? I have been searching but they are hard to find.
Thanks! Love, Annemieke.

She should sign up to the myfitnesspal.com forums. They're very anti-crash and fad dieting. And there are many users who've made some amazing transformations:

What do you mean? Have you read the forums when people ask about some fad diet?

Hi

I agree, they are very hard to find as the diet industry makes millions every year out of people starting diets and failing. Good for you for trying to find a positive solution for your friend.

I love the book 'Mindless Eating' by Brian Wansink and he has a website http://mindlesseating.org/index.php .

Other good books:
Susie Orbach - On Eating

Dr Rick Kausman - If Not Dieting Then What?
http://www.ifnotdieting.com.au/cpa/htm/htm_home.asp

The Paul McKenna books are good for introducing people to start eating when they are physically hungry, rather than for all the other non-hunger reasons people eat.

http://www.beyondchocolate.co.uk/ is a good UK alternative.

Inner Talk to a great subliminal CD to change your thoughts and beliefs. http://inner-talk.co.uk/product/weight-loss/

I would say that people have to be really fed-up with the dieting yo-yoing to try an alternative. Most people still think that dieting is the way to be happy with their body and weight. Darn that pesky diet industry for deluding people and making lots of money in the process!!!! Please let me know if you need any further information.

Vanessa x

The governments that most have voted in like the food industry just the way it is.
