Does anyone know much about this product? It gets good reviews for digestive issues and one person said it cured his stomach probs and constipation in one week.
Any info or experience of it would be helpful but where do you get it from?
I know you posted this a while ago, but I've just seen it today. It's really really easy to use - much more so than any other culture. All I do is put about an inch of the previous batch into a litre of soy milk, leave it at room temperature for 18 hours, then move it to the fridge. The slower/lower temperature makes it more potent... it seems. It's great because it works with soy milk, oat milk, rice milk, almond milk - which seems to fail miserably when I try other probiotics. You can also play around with putting supplements (powdered ones like dolomite or magnesium) into the mix - so that they are more digestible. I have a small glass after every meal.
The culture lasts forever, so once you get some you just keep using a bit from your last batch to start your next batch.
Give it a try!

I never tried it to be honest - so what has it done for you - what benefits have you seen or had?
It's a probiotic - so the effects are the same as drinking the yoghurt drinks, except if you are avoiding cow's milk you can make kefir from other milks (as I indicated above).
Do a google search - you'll find loads of interesting sites telling you more about it than I can!
Ava:)
Ava keep me posted as to the benefits you're finding with Kefir. I haven't made mine up yet but I must admit yoghurt drinks I did find did me some good - I know people knock them but I couldn't!

Janet, there are a number of former threads on Kefir, which can be found via Search / All Forums, including this one:

Desparately seeking Tibetan Mushroom
which has been going for some years now in Natural Remedies, and there has been some recent discussion on it, though you may have to wade through a lot of one-off posts by people who joined HP just to be asked to have some sent to them! 😉
Certainly though you should find some links given to external websites where you can read more about it, as well as within the thread.
Holistic
So far, I had no bad experience in eating yogurt and kefir. But usually, I'd rather eat kefir than yogurt because it was better than the yogurt. Because Kefir contains several major strains of good bacteria that are not usally found in yogurt.
