Hello,
I am an eighteen year old boy. Tall, and average build.
I have been a semi-couch potato lately due to exams and although it has been a while since then, I Have noticed a slight defect on my back.
The left side of it is more muscular than the right which has become slightly indented. So to say the left and right is convex and concave respectivly. I read an article online about Scoliosis and thought maybe it is. But my spine is visually ok, and we cant feel any bends or twists as we touch along it.
Our family doctor is not available right now although I will be seeing him in a few weeks. I just wanted to be a little aware of what to expect. Any insight will be helpful. Thank you.

Scoliosis is to do with a deformity of the spine, not muscular as such.
I think you would get a better answer from your GP but in the meantime if you are worried a Chiropractor or an osteopath would look at you and suggest how to regain muscle balance. Good general exercise may be all that's needed. They will advise you.

Haha i thought as much. But thanks anyways. Just wanted a second opinion even if not a first hand one.
I think I'll be going to a local Chiropractor in a day or two. Thank you.
I hope you can get it resolved ok but from what you have said I wouldn't think it was anything serious. But you do need some professional advice from a face to face appointment . I am glad you are trying to get that for yourself. Good luck - and keep us posted!
I just got my back checked out, and the Chiropractor said that its not as serious. But I had seemingly let my back muscle slack a bit due to my sitting and sleeping posture during exam.( I plead guilty to that haha) And the change in muscle caused my spine to ever so slight twist. Nothing some repgular massage and routine cant fix.
Thank you guys for replying so quick. Saved me an unnecessarily long talk with my doc.
