So... The good news is my rheumologist says I do not have arthritis. or lupus, or diabetes.
Heres what I do have: Severe burning in my hands and knees throughout the night. It is really bad in the morning. My arms and hands feel very heavy and numb in the morning, like they are dead weight, until I stand up. Generally the feeling goes away within 20 minutes or so.
Throughout the day my knees are fine. My hands hurt throught the day. I feel the tingling at the ends of my hands when I do the carpal tunnel wrist tap. However, I also have trouble streching my hands backwards= if that makes any sense. My hands hurt if i bend them back at the lowest knuckle, which my doctor says, is not symptomatic of carpal tunnel. When I am driving, my hands go numb, and I have to shake them out.
My question is, what is this, and all my symptoms symptomatic of?
I went to an actupuncturist today who said it seems neurological... what does this mean? what could this be? Set an apt with her but have not had any treatment yet.
Much thanks in advance for any insight....
RE: help!
I agree you need to see a neurologist, you may have trapped nerves in spine. I have some of those symptoms, but I have a neurological problem called CMT.
If you still need help I think I can
try.
I sent a PM
You could try to see a chiropractor. If your problems are due to trapped nerves in spine (subluxation) as suggested by caringsoul, a chiropractor can sort it out.
Hi nyc44
don't know if you have made any progress with your probs, hope they have eased. It's interesting your acupuncturist said it seems "neurological" - aren't all our functions and dis-functions?! Given that every part our body is connected to a corresponding part of the brain, if there is disruption in the flow of communication between the two, any nuber of things can occur. This happens to be a very prominent physical issue, but can still be treated by addressing the communication along the relevant neuron pathways.
I know many people have had excellent results with bioenergy healing, which addresses just this, using a technique of scanning the whole body to find blockages and releasing them. It is very specific and precise, and can give outstanding results in a short time. I know it is often referred to as "rewiring the brain"! Also, the name or 'label' given to the condition/ symptoms becomes irrelevant, so please don't focus too much on that but on getting better.
Hope this is a helpful idea for you
Best wishes

Re: help
According to the condition you mentioned, in TCM due to improper exertion or falling and contusion that im-pair the vessels and meridians and result in stagnation of qi and blood. Cupping or Acupuncture are the best way to help you improve the circulation of the body.
